Alex Cecchetti, Story Line: Marie & William 2014, Rowing/Performance as Publishing, 2013

Performance as Publishing was an experimental artist-led project by Nicole Bachmann and Ruth Beale which operated between 2011-2019. As a vessel for manifold artists’ practices, it encompassed research into the relationship between words, images and the voice, the politics of ‘who speaks’, and physical presence vs digital proxies. Performance as Publishing was DIY and DIWO, developing and presenting performance-based projects inside and outside the institution.  Each project defined a strain of practice emerging in London, the UK, and internationally, as can be seen on the Events pages.
